At Tierra Libre, Kindergarten is the gateway to community life: a space where time slows down, where nature embraces everyday experience, and where each child can grow according to the rhythm of their own being. Inspired by Waldorf education and a deep understanding of human development, we offer a warm, loving, and beauty-filled environment designed for children to experience childhood as a realm of wonder, play, and discovery.

Rhythm is the heart of preschool life. According to the anthroposophical understanding of child development, young children need a flow that is predictable yet alive — consistent but never rigid — echoing and strengthening the rhythm of breathing. Each activity, each transition, and every gesture of the adult becomes an inner guide for the child, helping them organize their world, feel secure, and develop in harmony.
At Tierra Libre, the daily and weekly rhythm is built with intention: repetition, warmth, close contact with nature, artistic activities, and generous periods of play that allow the child to grow from within outward, just as Rudolf Steiner described and as we deepen through our daily practice.
Located in the heart of Puerto Aventuras, surrounded by nature, sea, and open space, our Kindergarten offers an oasis for childhood: a place where movement, art, imagination, and meaningful contact with the natural world support healthy growth filled with purpose.
Our preschool is made up of two groups:
• Nursery — from 15/18 months to 3–4 years
• Kindergarten — 3–6 years
Both groups share daily life: the morning walk, the outdoor circle, the greeting to the sun and to nature, and the communal experience of the day. However, each stage has its own particular needs, and for this reason, they split for certain activities that respond to their developmental process.
In Nursery, we prioritize a sensory and nurturing environment: loving bonds, freedom of movement, healthy habits, and guidance that honors the body, silence, and the conscious presence of the adult.
In Kindergarten, the child begins an inner expansion: play deepens, imagination becomes a creative force, and rhythm takes on a more complex form, laying the foundation for the transition into primary school.
At this stage, every experience is designed to strengthen the inner faculties that will later become the foundation for academic learning. Before letters or numbers, we nurture imagination, will, and a sense of beauty, so that when the time comes, the child loves to learn.
These are the activities that shape the rhythm of our preschool:
Free Play (indoors and outdoors)
Free play is the child’s most important “work.” It allows them to explore their inner world, resolve conflicts, develop coordination, cooperate with others, and build inner imagery — an essential foundation for future literacy skills.
Meal Prep and Practical Life
Kneading bread, cutting fruit, setting the table, or folding napkins are everyday gestures that strengthen the will, foster healthy habits, and support sensory integration. Children actively participate in caring for the space and contributing to community life.
Common Meal
Sharing meals establishes a deep social rhythm. The shared table is an educational act in itself: a space for gratitude, simple conversation, nourishment, and community.
Watercolor (wet-on-wet)
Watercolor painting allows the child to encounter color as a living experience — without outlines, without demands. It fosters an inner state of calm, concentration, and artistic sensitivity.
Modeling with beeswax
Watercolor painting allows the child to encounter color as a living experience — without outlines, without demands. It fosters an inner state of calm, concentration, and artistic sensitivity.
Finger Knitting and Handcrafts
Through rhythmic movements and simple sequences, children develop coordination, spatial organization, and perseverance. The final product is not what matters most—it is the process, the gesture, and the inner rhythm that awakens within.
Circle Time
Circle time is the heart of Preschool. Through songs, verses, rhythm, and movement, it supports the development of language, socialization, imagination, and bodily presence. In the circle, children “enter the world” through poetry and gesture.
Rest and Storytime
At the end of the morning, body and soul surrender to rest. The told story cultivates deep inner imagery, nurturing memory, language, and emotional life. Afterwards, a brief rest allows the children to integrate all they have experienced throughout the day.
At Tierra Libre, we honor the sacred world of childhood — that gentle and luminous territory where everything begins to germinate. We care for it as one protects a seed: with patience, beauty, and deep reverence.
Every gesture, every rhythm, and every experience is guided by our values—love, harmony, integrity, respect for the earth, and trust in the inner light — so that children grow feeling seen, supported, and free. In this way, accompanied by a conscious community, they can joyfully unfold what they have come to offer to the world.
