Who we are
Tierra Libre, founded in 2020, is an educational community committed to providing a comprehensive
and living learning environment.
Our mission is to ensure that each child receives not only a quality academic education but also the emotional and mental support they need to flourish as free, thoughtful, and creative individuals.
We are a non-profit community
committed to education, dedicated to fostering
a nurturing environment for our children that is deeply intertwined with the world around them.
We believe that a wholesome education supports children’s global development in an integral way; taking into account their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects.
Our educational approach
We offer a bilingual education in Spanish and English, inspired by Waldorf pedagogy, adapted to our cultural and natural environment, with an emphasis on projects, science, and the environment.
Our curriculum is tailored to the physical, emotional,
and intellectual development of each age, and we
keep our groups small to ensure personalized attention.
Additionally, art and music are integral parts of our teaching, along
with practical classes in ceramics and movement, and
regular pedagogical excursions.
We have an environmental program with an ecological focus
applied to all subjects.
NURSERY (2 years old)
Creating a calm, loving, and warm environment is vital for the youngest children. The most significant activities are related to the connections they establish with other adults, developing healthy habits, and nurturing their life forces.
To support this process, the most important thing is to have consistent rhythms, in a logical sequence that establishes appropriate habits for the child in the space where they grow.
They are learning from other human beings how to be human, that is why going out every day, greeting the sun, the plants, the stones, the garden animals, taking care of the plants,
with a gesture of veneration from the adult they imitate,
is a gift for them, as their connection with nature will be
genuine and well-guided.
KINDERGARTEN (3 to 5 years old)
Kindergarten activities aim to equip children with the essential elements for easier learning in primary school and instill a
love for learning.
Our curriculum focuses on developing the child's inner skills and abilities that will transform into concepts and academic learning in primary school. A prerequisite for understanding and loving literacy is the ability to create internal images, which is increasingly challenging today due to high exposure to content created by others presented to children on screens.
Our activities are designed to strengthen children's sensory and cognitive organs, which will later be used for language and mathematical writing. They also promote neuronal connections between the brain hemispheres, which allow for better coordination and learning.
PRIMARY
We offer primary levels up to 5th grade with plans to expand to
secondary school.
We also facilitate the enrollment with an international educational platform , which provides an official inscription and school
transcripts at the end of the year.
Our entire program aims at raising, willful, confident and social beings who care about others and their environment; humans who observe what happens within and around themselves, who are capable of adapting to society but also of questioning conventionality and who are confident in their ability to contribute to the world.
